Alco-Bev Consultant
Gaurav Thapar is a Bangalore-based wine and spirits consultant and educator with more than 12 years of industry experience in different domains, from winemaking, viticulture, marketing, training, and research. Gaurav owns BSc. Agriculture (Honours) undergraduate degree from Punjab Agricultural University and did his graduate program in viticulture and oenology from Lincoln University, New Zealand. He also passed both WSET (London) Level 3 Award in Wines and Level 2 Award in Spirits with distinction. He is currently working as a consultant/trainer to various Alco-Bev companies/organizations and is also the ‘Wine Ambassador’ of Karnataka Wine Board (Govt. of Karnataka undertaking). As an architect of Karnataka Wine Board (Govt. of Karnataka Undertaking) flagship Wine Education, Appreciation and Tasting(WEAT) course, Gaurav has conducted training all over India with the participation of more than 8000 students from hotel management, horticulture, and food science colleges. Gaurav is also an industry consultant and co-investigator of a ‘wine phenolics research project’ at IISc, Bangalore.
